Qualifications for Membership

Full Membership

To obtain registered Full Membership of the Association, applicants should possess one of the following qualifications:

  • Police Motorcyclist Grade/Class 1 with proven instructional ability

Either currently serving Police Officer or retired within the last 2 years.  If in excess of 2 years can show they have been actively involved as an Advanced  Instructor, within the Advanced Motorcycle Training Industry.  Must also have teaching qualification or experience to prove instructional ability.

  • RoSPA National Motorcycle Diploma

  • BTEC - Level 3 Advanced Award for Motorcycle Instructors

All BTEC entry qualifications for National Association must be approved and authorised by NAAMI.

  • Other qualifications deemed to be equivalent to the above

Negotiations are currently underway with the IAM, BMF, MCIA and other organisations to clarify the existence of any formal advanced motorcycle instructor qualification, or future intention/development of such a qualification, that may also be recognised by NAAMI.

Associate Membership

To obtain Associate Membership applicants must be able to demonstrate that they are embarking on, or participating in, a programme of advanced motorcycle instructor training.
